Mumbai/IBNS: India's top film personalities including superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Allu Arjun, Katrina Kaif condemned the killing of over two dozen Hindu tourists by militants in one of the worst Islamist terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam.

In an X post, SRK wrote, "Words fail to express the sadness and anger at the treachery and inhumane act of violence that has occurred in Pahalgam. In times like these, one can only turn to God and say a prayer for the families that suffered and express my deepest condolences. May we as a Nation, stand united, strong and get justice against this heinous act."

Alia Bhatt wrote in an Instagram post, "The news from Pahalgam is heartbreaking. Innocent lives lost. Tourists, families, people who were just... living. Seeking beauty. Seeking peace. And now there's only grief. And the unbearable weight of it.

"Every time something like this happens, it chips away at our shared humanity. May those souls rest in peace. And may those left behind find strength somehow - though I don't know how we even begin to ask that of them."

"Soo heart broken by #Pahalgam Attack . Such a beautiful place with kind hearted people . Condolences to all the families, near and dear of the victims. May their innocent souls rest in peace . Truly Heart breaking," said Allu Arjun.

Katrina Kaif wrote in an Instagram story, "Heartbroken by the horrific attack in Pahalgam. Unsuspecting and innocent tourists and civilians, whose lives have been tragically taken. Deepest condolences to the families of the victims during this unimaginable time. Praying for strength and peace for all the families who have lost loved ones. May justice be served!!!"

Priyanka Chopra said in a statement, "What happened in Pahalgam is reprehensible. People were there on vacations, honeymoons, celebrating with their families. Just taking in the beauty of Kashmir. So many innocent lives were caught in a storm they never asked for. Targeted, right in front of their loved ones. This is not a tragedy we can move past from.

"This heinous attack should shake the conscience of humanity. This will haunt us for a long time. To those grieving, displaced, mourning, and living in fear, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I'm so deeply anguished by this."

Vicky Kaushal wrote, "Can't imagine the pain of the family members who lost their loved ones in the absolutely inhumane act of terrorism in Pahalgam. My deepest condolences and prayers. Hope the culprits behind this heinous act are brought to justice."

"It breaks my heart," said Rashmika Mandanna.

Akshay Kumar said, "Horrified to know of the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam. Sheer evil to kill innocent people like this. Prayers for their families."

Anushka Sharma wrote, "Heartbroken to hear about the cold-blooded terror attack on innocent people in Pahalgam, Kashmir. Heartfelt prayers and condolences to their families. This is a heinous attack that will never be forgotten."

Details about the attack

The terrorists reportedly asked the victims to chant Islamic verse, pull down their pants to check circumcision in a bid to confirm their Hindu identities before gunning them down. Two among the dead were non-Muslim foreigners.

The attack, which coincided with US Vice-President JD Vance's four-day India visit, has left the booming tourism and the Centre's normalcy drive in jeopardy.

The tourists have already rushed to move out of the valley, which is called India's Switzerland and a paradise over its scenic beauty.

According to a report by The Indian Express, officials said the terrorists chose the peak tourist season in the valley, the cause of relentless Pakistan-sponsored attacks on India, to execute the plans.
