Shankar Mahadevan kicks off the Season Finale of the Benadryl BIG Golden Voice
Kolkata, Aug 23 (IBNS) The second season of radio’s first ever singing talent hunt show – the Benadryl BIG Golden Voice has reached its finale.
Every semifinal stage across the nation saw a battle among the contestants, one with the drive to win the credit of being the nation’s BIG Golden Voice – the voice that, to its credit, will get to win the chance to work with singing maestro and judge of the BIG Golden Voice Season 2 – Shankar Mahadevan, in his next Bollywood film!
The announcement of the season finale saw seasoned experts from the entertainment and music industry like Suresh Wadkar, Vaishali Samant, Kavita Seth and Bhawana Somaaya join him in his quest to encourage the finalists.
Owing to the enormous popularity that the first reason received, the second season of the Benadryl BIG Golden Voice kick-started with over 91,000 entries from across the country in its auditions round. Now, the show witnesses its last stage – the finale round. Through various parameters of judging by the biggies of the music industry across the country, the finale has narrowed down to a battle between 12 extremely talented individuals, each with their own set of strengths and weaknesses. The finales come from cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Agra, Chambal, Surat, Guwahati, Hisar, Jammu, Marwar, Chandigarh and Rourkela.
Shayoni Palit, a visually impaired young girl from Kolkata made it to top 12 finalists of the country and exhibited her vocal talent on the national platform amongst 11 other finalists from across the country.
Speaking of the talent that has been shortlisted from season 2’s beginning till its finale stage, Shankar Mahadevan stated, “I am astounded looking at the talent that exists in our country here. The wide landscape and the massiveness of the country usually results in talent from across the country to be unseen and unheard. As such, the Benadryl BIG Golden Voice has provided a spectacular platform for people even from the remotest villages to come to the center of where talent is recognized. I’m delighted to play such an integral part of Benadryl BIG Golden Voice and I look forward to seeing who wins the finale. Every contender hereis equally strong and talented; this is going to be a tough one to judge.”
Speaking of the occasion, Ashwin Padmanabhan, National Business Head, 92.7 BIG FM said, “It has been an extremely empowering journey watching so many people belonging to so many different parts of the country fighting the battle to emerge victorious. Narrowing down the talent from 91,000 to a mere 12 has not been an easy one but I’m extremely pleased to have leveraged on the reach that 92.7 BIG FM has across the country. It has enabled us to tap even the remotest villages of the country to make sure that no existing singing talent out there has gone unnoticed.”
The event saw the announcement of the season’s finale and also brought to the fore the 12 finalists who will compete to win the title of the ‘Benadryl BIG Golden Voice’. Shankar Mahadevan also spoke of the various parameters and judging criteria that will be followed to select the final winner.
The event culminated with an on-stage performance by the 12 finalists of the Benadryl BIG Golden Voice Season 2 who were later on joined by musical maestros Shankar Mahadevan and Suresh Wadkar. The evening saw the veterans pave the way for a successful musical journey for the future singing sensations in India
