Sheena Chohan to feature in Hollywood film Nomad
Mumbai/Los Angeles, July 13 (IBNS): Indian actress Sheena Chohan, who was launched by south Indian superstar Mammootty and has starred as the lead in 7 films, has been selected to play a role in award winning director Taron Lexton's Hollywood film Nomad.
Nomad is an unlikely love story being shot in 25 countries across 7 continents. There were over 28,000 submissions for casting, but Sheena was spotted by casting director Leslie Brown, who specializes in independent films and international casting from Los Angeles, and chosen by Lexton to play the Indian character of a free spirited woman with a love of world travel.
Sheena, who is presently in America to begin the shoot, has worked with three National Award Winning directors such as Buddhadeb Dasgupta.
She was handpicked by actress Sushmita Sen for Miss Universe India where she won the title I AM She for her audience connectivity. Sheena was nominated as Best Actress at the Shanghai and Dubai Film Festivals for her Netflix Film, Ant Story. Her next film to be released in India is with multiple award winning Bengali director Bappaditya Bandopadhyay, titled Justice.
Last month, the actress was awarded the prestigious Human Rights Hero Award at the United Nations in New York for her work enlightening more than 36 million people about their Human Rights.
Taron Lexton has directed over 300 award-winning commercials, short films, documentaries, music videos and feature films. His work has aired to over 1 billion people worldwide on major television networks including MTV, FOX, CNN, Sky TV, Nickelodeon and Disney Channel. The New York Times called his last feature film, In Search of Fellini, "a charming drama" and it holds a 89% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
