Soumitra Chatterjee to receive Legion d'Honneur, Mamata Banerjee wishes the veteran actor
The Indian actor will be getting the award 30 years after legendary Indian filmmaker Satyajit Ray had received it.

Chatterjee received Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2012.
He is also a Padma awardee, received the Padma Bhushan in 2004. Other awards include two National Film Awards, Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and a Filmfare East award.
Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee congratulated the actor over being conferred with the honour. She tweeted: "From Apur Sansar to Legion d Honour. The legendary Shri Soumitra Chattopadhay, hallmark of Indian and Bengali cinema... 1/2."
