Kolkata/IBNS: The trailer of National Award winning filmmaker Srijit Mukherji's upcoming flick Shotyi Bole Shotyi Kichhu Nei was unveiled on Monday.

The trailer was launched at a grand event with most of the cast members at Town Hall in the city's downtown.

The trailer for Shotyi Bole Shotyi Kichhu Nei offers an intriguing glimpse into a visually stunning and emotionally gripping story.

Set against breathtaking backdrops of the sea, jungle, and expansive landscapes, the film promises to delve into timeless and universal themes of prejudice, redemption, truth, revenge, and justice.

"It was my dream project. In 2011, I narrated it to late Rituparno Ghosh, who had maintained that this is one of my finest scripts," Srijit said.

"The film has touched upon the contemporary socio-economic, political and religious issues which are going on in our country," said the filmmaker.

The film is based on the film Ek Ruka Hua Faisla, which was directed by Basu Chatterjee.

Srijit directed a stellar ensemble cast comprising Kaushik Ganguly, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Phalguni Chatterjee, Kaushik Sen, Anirban Chakrabarti, Rahul Banerjee, Ananya Chatterjee, Sauraseni Maitra, Kanchan Mullick, Ritwick Chakraborty, Arjun Chakrabarty and Suhotra Mukhopadhyay.

The actors represent a kaleidoscope of societal dynamics, portraying characters that span diverse socio-economic strata, political ideologies, and sexual orientations.

The music is arranged by Amit Chatterjee and a riveting background score by Subhadeep Guha. Additionally, the film features Noor Islam and Kaushik Kar.

The trailer launch event, steeped in symbolism, featured the cast and crew dressed in striking black-and-white attire, reflecting the profound duality of head versus heart, judgment versus revelation—themes that resonate deeply throughout the film.

Produced by SVF, Shotyi Bole Shotyi Kichhu Nei is slated for a release on January 23, 2025.
