The Eken-Ruddhaswas Rajasthan: Anirban Chakrabarti says 'no reference point helped me to play Eken Babu'

Kolkata/IBNS: Bengali actor Anirban Chakrabarti will be back on the big screens as detective Eken Babu with upcoming Bengali film The Eken-Ruddhaswas Rajasthan, an SVF production.

Speaking on the film at an event hosted by the makers at restaurant Aaheli, Anirban said, "Every film on Eken Babu is always shot in new places. No location is repeated. Travelogue, food, culture accompany the entire shooting process. Even the director, his team and the production house remained the same. So we worked in a comfortable zone."

"With every film and series, I am able to discover the character Eken. I just think how Eken would react to a situation," he added.

Anirban said the fact that no other actor had earlier played Eken Babu has actually helped him in essaying the character.

"I had no reference point when I started playing this role. I had acted based on my sensibility which clicked. Having no reference point has actually helped me. I had a clean slate so I followed my instincts," he told IBNS.

Eken Babu will reunite with his two favourite buddies Bapi (Suhotra Mukhopadhyay) and Pramatha (Somak Ghosh).

The film also features Sandipta Sen, and our own Rajatava Dutta.

In the mystery-thriller film directed by Joydeep Mukherjee, the trailer centres on Eken Babu and his two sidekicks Suhotra Mukhopadhyay and Somak Ghosh.

While on vacation in vibrant Rajasthan, where the nostalgia of Sonar Kella hits hard to all the Bangali’s, suddenly a mystery intensifies.

The Eken-Ruddhaswas Rajasthan is slated for April 14 release.
