Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar will be portraying a goon-turned boxer who makes a comeback in the ring following a downfall in upcoming Hindi film Toofan, as suggested by the film's trailer.

The makers have released the trailer of the film, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.

Farhan tweeted the trailer saying, "The storm has arrived, are you ready? #ToofaanTrailer out now."

The trailer begins with actor Mrunal Thakur's character requesting Farhan, who is reluctant to make a comeback to the boxing ring, to return to the sport after a five-year ban on him was lifted.

Farhan's character is seen getting involved in a scandal following which he was banned.

Veteran actor Paresh Rawal plays the coach of Farhan's character.

After Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Toofan is the second collaboration between Farhan and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.

In a new normal amid COVID-19 pandemic, the film is set to be premiered on Over-the-top (OTT) platform Amazon Prime Video on Jul 16.
