Singer Udit Narayan has found himself in the middle of a controversy after a video clip went viral on the social media where he could be seen kissing his fans during a live concert.

In the video, the popular Bollywood singer could be seen singing his hit song Tip Tip Barsa Paani.

He could be seen kissing one of the fans on her lips, triggering an outrage on the social media.

Narayan received massive backlash on the social media for his act.

Now an old video has emerged where he could be seen kissing his colleagues Shreya Ghoshal and Alka Yagnik on the cheek.

Both the female singers could be seen reacting surprisingly to his act.

Meanwhile, defending his act, Narayan told Hindustan Times: "Fans itne deewane hote hain na. Hum log aise nahi hain, hum decent log hain. (Fans are crazy. I am not like this. I am a decent person). Some people encourage this and show their love through this."

He said there was no point making the incident a 'big deal'.

Apart from Hindi, Udit Narayan sang in various other languages including Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Bengali, Sindhi, Odia, Bhojpuri, Nepali, Malayalam, Assamese, Bagheli and Maithili.

He has won four National Film Awards and five Filmfare Awards with twenty nominations among many others.

The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri in 2009 and the Padma Bhushan in 2016 for his contribution towards arts and culture.
