Veteran actor Mrinal Mukherjee dies after prolonged illness

Kolkata, May 7 (UNI): Veteran Tollywood actor Mrinal Mukherjee, known for his acting in Byomkesh O Chiriakhana (2016), Ghar Jamai(2008) and Streer Maryada (2002), passed away on Tuesday after prolonged illness at a city hospital.

Mrinal Mukherjee, who also lent voice in several movies as play back singer, breathed his last at a private hospital in south Kolkata on Tuesday afternoon, the Artists Forum said while condoling the death of the octogenarian.

He was suffering from deadly cancer and was lately attacked by jaundice before his end came.

Mrinal Mukherjee entered cinema in the 60s as an actor in ‘Chuti’ directed by Arundhati Devi.

He also acted in several films of Tapan Sinha.

He also made several serials for small screen.
