Bangladesh national cricket team to fly home from New Zealand soon after Christchurch shooting
Dhaka, Mar 15 (Xinhua) Shortly after the horrific shooting incident in New Zealand's Christchurch where the Bangladesh national cricket team survived a close shave, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hassan said on Friday in Dhaka that all the players would fly home from New Zealand soon. He said "Our players are all at the hotel and are safe."
At least two Bangladeshis were killed and four to five others injured in the attacks at two mosques in Christchurch which have killed at least 49 people and injured 48 others.
Bangladesh cricket team players narrowly survived the attack.
They were going to one of the mosques to offer prayers when the incident took place. There were later taken back to team hotel safely.
The third and final Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand in Christchurch has already been cancelled.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has strongly condemned the shooting at the mosques in New Zealand, the state-run news agency BSS reported.
