BCCI serves 'conflict of interest' notice to Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman

Mumbai, Apr 25 (IBNS): The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)'s ombudsman-cum ethics officer DK Jain has served notice to former Indian cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and V.V.S. Laxman over conflict of interest for having roles in Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises.

While Tendulkar is the mentor of Mumbai Indians, Laxman is playing a similar role in Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The notice has been sent as both the cricketers are parts of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), which picked Ravi Shastri as the coach of the national team.

Justin Jain has asked both Tendulkar and Laxman to respond in a written format by Apr 28 and also asked BCCI to respond.

The complaint was filed by Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCC) member Sanjeev Gupta.

Earlier, former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly had to appear before Justice Jain (retd.) for simultaneously playing the roles as Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president, CAC member and adviser to IPL franchise Delhi Capitals.
