Southampton, June 5 (IBNS): India bowlers maintained a tight spell of bowling they restricted South Africa to 227 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their opening World Cup match here on Wednesday.
Chris Morris (42) attacked the Indian bowlers late which helped the total move past the 200-runs mark.
Phehlukwayo (34) and Rabada (31) added quick-fire runs.
Morris hammered two sixes and a boundary in his knock.
Chahal picked up four wickets and added troubles for the South African batsmen.
Bumrah and Kumar added two wickets each.
