In first World Cup match, India beat South Africa by six wickets

Southampton, June 5 (IBNS): South Africa lost their third match on a trot in the ongoing Cricket World Cup as India defeated them by six wickets.

Rohit Sharma made an unbeaten 122 on India's debut match in this World Cup to ensure a win after the bowlers did a good job restricting the Proteas to 227.

With 42, Chris Morris was the highest scorer of the South African side.

While India's Chahal picked up four wickets conceding 51 runs, Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took two wickets each.

India scored the winning runs with 15 balls to spare.
