Rain stops India, Pakistan match at 46.4 overs, Kohli and his men dominate proceedings

Manchester, June 16 (IBNS): Rain halted the proceedings of the high-voltage clash between India and Pakistan in the 47th over of the Indian innings here on Sunday.

India posted 305 runs for the loss of four wickets when rain halted the proceedings.

Virat Kohli (71*) and Vijay Shankar (3*) were at the crease.

The highlight of the Indian innings was a charismatic knock of 140 runs played by Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma.

He and KL Rahul (57) set the platform for India at the beginning to post a massive total on the scorecard against arch-rival Pakistan.

Hardik Pandya (26) and MS Dhoni (1) departed fast as Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir showed them the door towards the pavilion.

Hasan Ali and Wahabb Riaz picked up a wicket each for Pakistan.

Virat Kohli completes 11,000 runs

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli added one more important feather to his crown as he completed 11,000 runs.

He broke Sachin Tendulkar's record and became the quickest person to touch the 11.000 mark.

In his career which is full of records,Kohli reached the mark in his 222nd  innings. Sachin Tendulkar needed 276 innings to do the same.
