Angelo Mathews scores 113, Sri Lanka post 264/7 against India
Leeds, July 6 (IBNS): Riding on Angelo Mathews' hundred, Sri Lanka posted 264 runs for the loss of seven wickets in a World Cup group stage match against India here on Saturday.
Sri Lanka were once reduced to 55 for the loss of four wickets.
However, Angelo (113) and Lahiru Thirimanne (53) joined to score 124 runs to bring out Sri Lanka from the situation.
Silva contributed 29 runs at the end.
Mathews looked bold and determined in his heroic knock that was much needed for his side on a day when Indian bowlers dominated the first half.
Indian pace bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah delivered once against and picked up three wickets.
