ISL: NorthEast United FC beat Mumbai City FC

Mumbai, Oct 24 (IBNS): NorthEast United FC jumped to the second position by beating Mumbai City FC 2-0 in an Indian Super League (ISL) clash at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on Friday.

It was Kondwani Mtonga’s finish in the 57th minute which gave the visitors a lead in the second half after both the sides ended goalless in the first half of the match.

Felipe de Castro cemented the victory for  NorthEast United FC by scoring another goal in the  stoppage time.

Both the sides fought to take possession in the first half of the game.Mumbai began to control possession  and took the attack to the opponent side.

But the visitors did not give a chance to thew hosts to take an early advantage in the contest.

Mumbai faced a disadvantage in the later half of the game as they were reduced to just nine players at one point of time.

With seven points from  four matches, NorthEast United FC is just behind chart topper Atletico de Kolkata.
