2nd ODI: India beat Australia by 36 runs, level series 1-1

Rajkot/UNI: India produced a clinical all-round performance to beat Australia by 36 runs in the second ODI, leveling the three match series 1-1 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association stadium, here on Friday.

Riding on fifties from Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli, India posted a mammoth total of 340 for 6 and then the bowlers put an inspired bowling performance to bundle out Australia on 304-10 in 49.1 overs at Rajkot.

Mohammed Shami was the most successful Indian bowler with 3/77 while Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja and Navdeep Saina took two apiece while Bumrah picked one wicket.

Steve Smith top-scored with a 102-ball 98 while Marnus Labuschagne made a 47-ball 46.

The last and final match of the three match series will be played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Sunday.
