Hamilton/IBNS: Ross Taylor smashed 109 runs and remained unbeaten till the end as he guided New Zealand to a memorable victory in a high-scoring match here on Wednesday.

Latham, who is leading the side in the absence of Williamson, contributed 69 runs to help New Zealand reach the target of 348 runs by losing six wickets after India were successful in posting massive 347/4 on the scorecard.

Taylor dominated the innings and helped New Zealand in the run chase which needed a cool mind and action.

It was the first win for the Kiwis against India since Virat Kohli and his men started the tour after the Men In Blue registered a 5-0 victory in the T20 series.

Nicholls added 78 runs for New Zealand at the top of the innings.

India, earlier, riding on Iyer's 103 runs, scored massive 347 runs.

All the Indian bowlers gave away runs.

Iyer looked impressive in his 103 runs knock.  He scored 11 boundaries and a six in his innings.

The series is currently leveled at 1-1.
