New Delhi, Nov 5 (IBNS): Cricket sensation Virat Kohli, who has established a strong platform for himself in the game, turned 26 years of age on Wednesday.

The Indian U-19 World Cup winning skipper-Kohli-holds the record of making the fastest century by an Indian batsman and became the fastest to 17 hundreds in ODI by any batsman.

Regarded by many as the one who will lead the national cricket side in future and might break records set by Indian batting icon Sachin Tendulkar, Kohli impressed his fans both by playing big shots and taking charge of the game often.

Kohli is currently captaining the ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Making his ODI debut for India in 2008, Kohli was part of the Indian team which won the World Cup in 2011. He made his Test debut in 2011.

In November 2013, he became the top ranked ODI batsman for the first time.

Kohli is also the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore team in Indian Premier League (IPL).
