Former Australian cricketer Shane Watson retires from all forms of the sport
Brisbane/IBNS: Former Australian cricketer Shane Watson on Tuesday announced his retirement from all forms of the sport.
Announcing his retirement, Watson said, "As one amazing chapter closes another very exciting one opens.
"I am forever grateful for everyone who was so good to me and helped me realise that dreams do come through.
"Now onto the next exciting chapter......"
Watson made his international cricket debut in 2002 against South Africa.
He scored over 5,000 runs in 190 One Day Internationals (ODs) and over 3,000 runs in 59 Test matches.
In T20 Internationals, Watson scored 1,462 in 58 matches.
He had announced his retirement from international cricket in 2016.
Watson was last seen in the yellow jersey of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the ongoing 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL).
