Sydney Test: India 96/2 at stumps on day 2, trail Australia by 242 runs
Sydney/IBNS: India scored 96/2 at stumps on the second day of the third Test match against Australia here on Friday.
India are trailing Australia by 242 runs.
After a good start, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill scored 26 and 50 runs respectively.
Cheteshwar Pujara and skipper Ajinkya Rahane remained unbeaten at nine and five respectively.
The two Indian wickets were picked up by Australia's Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins.
Earlier Steve Smith played yet another heroic innings of 131 runs which helped Australia post 338 runs in the first innings of the third Test match against India here on Friday.
Ravindra Jadeja shined with the ball on the second day as he picked up four wickets to damage Australian order at the end.
Marnus Labuschagne (91) and Will Pucovski (62) added some runs with their willows.
Jasprit Bumrah and debutant Navdeep Saini took two wickets each while Mohammed Siraj picked up one.
