Never underestimate Indians: Justin Langer

Brisbane: Australian coach Justin Langer and his squad received a jolt in the final Test match as a young and injury-hit Indian team defeated the opponents to clinch the series 2-1, making the former opener say that 'Indians' should not be underestimated.

“Never ever underestimate the Indians, 1.5 billion and you play in the senior team, you have to be really tough. I can’t compliment India enough," Langer was quoted as saying by Channel 7.

India bounced back smartly after losing the first Test against Tim Paine's men.

India were bowled out for just over 30 runs in the second innings.

"You can’t take anything for granted," Langer said.

Australian skipper Tim Paine said India won key moments in the game.

"I thought every time India needed to do that, or needed a wicket, someone managed to do it for them," Tim Paine was quoted as saying by Cricket Australia website.

"They won the key moments. I just said to 'JL' (coach Justin Langer) I felt like we turned up to Sydney and the Gabba on day five in as good a position as you'd want to be in, and we couldn't get the job done," he said.

"There were some things that we could have and should have done better, but at the same time I thought India's batting group was amazing on both those day fives," he said.
