Mumbai, Nov 24 (IBNS): I-League club Mumbai FC will be organizing Youth Programmes for the Under-15(U15) boys category.

The programme will take place in the month of December at the Lions Municipal Ground, Santacruz to help the youngsters understand the importance of decision making in a football game and to develop the player as a whole.

Mumbai has a plethora of untapped raw talent. Through this programme Mumbai FC aims to nurture this talent and contribute to the overall football development of these young players.

The Youth Programme will be in line with the club’s philosophy of ‘Player Oriented Football for the Youth’. The registrations are open to all boys aged U15, that is, born after 1st January 2000. The final objective of this programme is to select the best players for the Mumbai FC u15 squad.

“This will be a very player oriented activity and will help the player understand how he can develop mentally and physically. The youngsters often make mistakes when it comes to decision making. It’s important to have confidence in your ability and not hesitate in making a decision while playing the sport.” said Kundan Chandra, the Head of Youth Development – Mumbai FC.

He added, “The players who perform to their best of their ability will be selected to play for the Mumbai FC u15 squad. This is a great opportunity for the boys in Mumbai to showcase their capability and to get themselves educated about football.”

The senior team of Mumbai boasts of many players who have graduated from the club’s youth teams. Dy. Vice President, Mr. Atul Badgamia said, “We have many players from our youth teams who have proved themselves enough to play for the senior team. This is a Long-term project for the club. We want to promote the youth of Mumbai to play at the highest level. Such programmes alongwith our Grassroots Project provides a platform of sustainability for the club.”
