Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India has suspended the ongoing Indian Premier League, media reports said.
The announcement was made after several cricketers, who are playing for different teams, tested COVID-19 positive.
The move was confirmed by IPL chairman Brijesh Patel, who said the decision was taken for the safety of all stakeholders, reports Espncricinfo.
In a fresh development, Sunrisers Hyderabad wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha tested COVID-19 positive on Tuesday.
Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders and CSK faced similar trouble when some cricketers and staff tested COVID-19 positive.
