New Delhi/UNI: Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah and batswoman Smriti Mandhana on Tuesday received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

"Vaccinated. Please stay safe everyone," tweeted Bumrah along with a picture.

Mandana, who lives in Mumbai, shared an Instagram post about her vaccination.

"1st dose Please stay safe and get yourself vaccinated," wrote the left-handed opener.

Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on May 6.

Thereafter, several of his teammates, including skipper Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma, received their first jab at various vaccination centres across the country.

Head coach Ravi Shastri was the first from the Indian cricket team to receive the vaccine, as he got his first jab in the first week of March, when vaccination was made open for all senior citizens.

Last month, the government also announced vaccination for all those above the age of 18 years in the third phase of the nation's Covid-19 vaccination drive that started from May 1.
