London/IBNS: At least one Indian player has tested positive for COVID-19 in the United Kingdom ahead of the South Asian team's warm up matches in England, media reports said.

Though the BCCI is yet to officially name the COVID-19-infected cricketer, some news reports say it is young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant.

All players were tested on Jun 10 and 14.

As per reports, one sample tested on Jun 10 resulted positive.

The players and support staff, who came in contact with the coronavirus positive teammate, have been asked to isolate themselves.

A Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) official told InsideSport, "All players will reassemble in Durham today. The player who has been tested positive will stay isolated. We will now not allow players to mingle around till we get reports of the test undertaken yesterday."

"We have asked teammates and support staff who came in contact with the player to isolate themselves for next three days. They will travel to Durham but will be asked to get in quarantine. We are just waiting for their test reports for the tests undertaken on Tuesday," he added.

The UK is witnessing a rise in COVID-19 cases over the past few weeks with the lifting of restrictions.
