Tokyo/IBNS/UNI: India's Kalapreet Kaur came sixth in the final of the women's discus with a throw of 63.70m at Tokyo Olympics on Monday.

Competing in the women’s final, the 25-year-old Kamalpreet measured her best throw at 63.70 metres to finish sixth among the 12 finalists at Tokyo 2020.

US Valarie Allman won the gold medal with an effort of 68.98 metres while Kristin Pudenz of Germany managed 66.86m on her final attempt to clinch the silver at the Olympic Stadium.

Yaime Pérez of Cuba settled for the bronze with an attempt of 65.72m.

Kaur’s personal best is 65.06 metres, a national record she set at the Federation Cup in March.

The Punjab athlete also threw a 66.59m at the Indian Grand Prix in June but it’s not considered a national record since she was the sole participant on the day.
