Tokyo Paralympics: India's Praveen Kumar clinches silver by jumping 2.07m

Tokyo: India's Praveen Kumar clinched silver medal by jumping 2.07m in Men’s High Jump T64 event of the Tokyo Paralympics here on Friday.

Jonathan Broom-Edwards of the UK won gold.

India's medal tally now reached 10.

The Indian athlete set a new Asian record with the win.

Indian PM Narendra Modi wished the athlete and tweeted: "Proud of Praveen Kumar for winning the Silver medal at the #Paralympics. This medal is the result of his hard work and unparalleled dedication. Congratulations to him. Best wishes for his future endeavours. #Praise4Para."
