Srinagar/IBNS: Henan Malik and Abid Mushtaq shined as the J&K senior cricket team registered its first win in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy Sunday.

After having faced three consecutive defeats, J&K handed table-toppers Odisha a 95 run defeat at Dadoji Konddev Stadium, Thane.

Earlier, the J&K batters posted a total of 278 runs for the loss of nine wickets.

Henan Malik was the highest scorer for J&K, scoring a 79 run knock from 94 balls. Shubham Khajuria scored 38, Parvez Rasool 30, Shubham Pundir 28 and Abid Mushtaq scored 25.

Auquib Nabi remained unbeaten on 18 from nine balls.

Odisha's Shantanu Mishra and Biplab took two wickets each.

In reply to J&K's batting efforts, Odisha bundled out for 183 runs in 45 overs.

Abhisekh Rawat with 40 and Govinda Poddar securing 37 were the highest scorers for Odisha.

For J&K, Abid Mushtaq was phenomenal with the ball, taking five wicket haul in his 10 over quota. Mujtaba Yousuf took two, while Auquib Nabi, Parvez Rasool and Ram Dayal bagged one wicket each.

With this win, J&K opened its account on the Elite Group A table with four points. Odisha still sits comfortably as the table topper with 12 points.
