Cricket fraternity supports Wriddhiman Saha after he slams 'respected journalist' who threatened him on Whatsapp
Kolkata: Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha received support from the cricket fraternity after he slammed a 'respected journalist' for threatening him over Whatsapp for not giving him an interview.
Saha, who was dropped from the Test squad against Sri Lanka, tweeted criticising the journalist for his comments and also shared a screenshot of the message received by him on the texting platform. While he did not name him, one prominent Kolkata based journalist's name is doing the rounds.
"After all of my contributions to Indian cricket..this is what I face from a so called “Respected” journalist! This is where the journalism has gone," Saha tweeted.

Reacting to Saha's post, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag remarked: "What I would have done and what Wriddhi should be doing next time the so-called journalist dares to message him."
He also described the episode as 'extremely sad'.
"Extremely sad. Such sense of entitlement, neither is he respected nor a journalist, just chamchagiri. With you Wriddhi.," he said.
Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh also came out in Saha's support and wrote: "Wridhi you just name the person so that the cricket community knows who operates like this. Else even the good ones will be put under suspicion.. What kind of journalism is this ? @BCCI @Wriddhipops @JayShah@SGanguly99@ThakurArunSplayers should be protected."

Several senior Indian players like Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma and Saha were all dropped from the Test team which was announced on Saturday that will play against Sri Lanka in the home series.
Meanwhile, Saha dropped a bomb when he said Indian coach Rahul Dravid told him to think about "retirement" as he won't be considered for selection henceforth.
“Rahul bhai called me soon after the Test. I thought maybe he wanted to tell why he could not include me in the playing eleven and what’s the way forward. After the Test [in Kanpur] against New Zealand, Dadi (Sourav Ganguly) texted me congratulating me for my innings and boosted my confidence. So, when Rahul bhai called me, I thought maybe he wanted to talk to me about his plans,” Saha told Sportstar.
Saha claimed that BCCI president Sourav Ganguly had assured him of a Test spot after his 61 runs knock against New Zealand in the home series.
“After scoring 61 against New Zealand at Kanpur, Dadi (Ganguly) congratulated me over WhatsApp and mentioned, ‘As long as I’m here (helming the BCCI), you would be in the team’. Such a message from the BCCI president really boosted my confidence. What I’m struggling to understand is that how things have changed so fast,” Saha told The Sunday Express, hours after the team selection announcement.
