Miami/UNI: Former world number one tennis player Naomi Osaka of Japan prevailed over Belinda Bencic of Switzerland to reach her first Miami Open final.
Osaka took just over two hours to pull off a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Bencic and reached her fourth career WTA 1000 final on Thursday.
The Japanese tennis star who's world ranking is 77th will face off against incoming world number one Iga Swiatek of Poland.
Swiatek, who won the Indian Wells past week, beat the American tennis player Jessica Pegula 6-2, 7-5 to enter the Miami finals and win her 16th straight match.
Both the players have not met since 2019 when Osaka beat Swiatek 7-6(4), 6-4 in the Round of 16 of the Canadian Open.
Osaka will aim for her third WTA 1000 title following her crowns at 2018 Indian Wells and 2019 Beijing.
