Shikhar Dhawan named as skipper for 3-match ODI series against Zimbabwe, Deepak Chahar returns
Mumbai: Shikhar Dhawan will lead the Indian squad in the three-ODI tournament against Zimbabwe that will begin from Aug 18.
Seamer Deepak Chahar and spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who have recovered from injury, were named in the squad.
Several senior cricketers, which include skipper Rohit Sharma and batsman Virat Kohli, have been rested for the series.
Uncapped batsman Rahul Tripathi was also named in the squad.
India will play three ODIs in Harare on Aug 18, 20 and 22.
Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson were named as wicket-keeper.
Regular wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant has been rested.
Interestingly, Dhawan recently led India to 3-0 ODI victory against West Indies.
KL Rahul, who underwent a sports hernia surgery and then tested positive for COVID-19, also remained missing from the 15-men side.
