In a series of tweets, Jemima Khan said: "Thank you so much to all those Pakistanis who have sent me such lovely messages over the last few days. I am really touched."
"I'll always love Pakistan. Thanks to my sons & the love I've been shown there, I'll always feel like an honorary Pakistani, no matter what..And I hope Imran will be happy in this new phase of his life," she said.
Imran Khan and Jemima divorced in 2004.
The couple has two sons together – Sulaiman, 18, and Qasim, 15.
Khan might soon be marrying broadcast journalist Reham Khan, media reports said.
