Almost a year after Team India crashed out of the T20 World Cup, the men-in-blue could do nothing more than staring at an ouster from the Asia Cup 2022 losing two consecutive Super Four matches in the mega tournament.

In a crucial match after losing to Pakistan Sunday night, Rohit Sharma-led India were Tuesday outsmarted by resurgent Sri Lanka, who registered a six-wicket victory in Dubai toying with the opponent's inexperienced bowling lineup.

Ahead of the next T20 World Cup due to be played later this year, the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) has been blamed by a section of netizens for Team India's Asia Cup debacle.

One Omkar Upadhyay tweeted, "#boycottipl India needs a w&k like dhoni #RishabhPant #INDvSL #arshdeepsingh #Dhoni."

One K Sharma says, "This is where we lost the tournament. There is passion in this team. They are here for friendly matches and we Indian are excited to see the battle. Like Bollywood we should boycott Indian cricket team. @RishabhPant17 @klrahul as***le #BoycottIPL #INDvSL."
