India's inaugural match in the ongoing T20 World Cup against Pakistan Sunday went on to become a thriller with the contest running down to the last ball, which was successfully handled by Ravichandran Ashwin to cause a memorable victory for the men-in-blue.

Of course, the man of the moment was former Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who almost single-handedly turned the match in their favour with his unbeaten 82.

After the thriller, Australia allrounder Mitchell Marsh made a remark expressing his feeling for the epic battle between the arch-rivals.

In the Australia-Sri Lanka pre-match press conference, Marsh said as quoted by the media, "I actually think we should just stop the World Cup there. Um, if it gets any better than that, we're in for an amazing three weeks.

"India v Pakistan is always an incredible game to watch. I can't imagine what it would be like to have been in that crowd and to be a part of it."

Marsh also praised Kohli, whose innings was lauded by the entire cricket world.

From Prime Minister Narendra Modi to cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, Kohli was showered with congratulatory messages after he remarkably won the match, which was in the full grip of Pakistan.

"But yeah. Amazing. Virat Kohli has been through an indifferent 12 months when you think about his career.

"And for him to do that, um, you know, put his mark on the World Cup and it was an incredible innings to watch, an incredible game. So hopefully there's a few more of those," Marsh said.
