Aditya School of Sports merges its residential cricket academy with Delhi Capitals
Kolkata/IBNS: The Aditya School of Sports (ASOS) has announced a partnership with Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Capitals.
Through this partnership, Delhi Capitals will expand its academy programme to the eastern part of the country for the first time and will be working closely with the ASOS Academy in Barasat.
Dhira Malhotra (CEO, Delhi Capitals), Saba Karim (former India wicket keeper & Head of Talent Search, Delhi Capitals), Jagrit Anand (Head of DC Cricket Academics), Prain Amre (Assistant coach Delhi Capitals), Anirban Aditya (Chairman, ASOS), Ankit Aditya (Vice Chairman, ASOS) and Abdul Monayem as Head Coach & Talent Research Head, ASOS were present at the event.
A talent hunt will be conducted at the academy later this month and the selected candidates in the U-16 age group will be offered scholarships at the DC academy.
The trails are to be held from Nov 16.
Speaking on this occasion, Dhiraj Malhotra said, "We are very excited to bring our academy to programme a new part of our country, it is an excellent opportunity for our scouts and coaches to keep an eye out for the young talent here."
Saba Karim said, "Having represented Bengal for so long in domestic cricket, this is an extra special occasion for me. This city has given me a lot, and this is my way to express my thanks by being a part of this endeavour to promote sports in Northeast India and Bengal."
