Sania Mirza-Shoaib Malik divorce: Know about Ayesha Siddiqui, ex-Pakistan captain's first wife

| @indiablooms | 12 Nov 2022, 09:24 pm

The divorce rumour of India's tennis icon Sania Mirza and former Pakistan cricket captain Shoaib Malik has dominated the social media space over the last few days.

Some reports have confirmed the two are separated and are going to be officially divorced soon.

Shoaib's rumoured involvement with Pakistani model-actor Ayesha Omar has been cited as the reason behind the divorce as many reports have already claimed.

Like his divorce, Shoaib's marriage with Sania 12 years ago was equally controversial.

Just before Shoaib's marriage with Sania, a Hyderabadi girl, named Ayesha Siddiqui, emerged and claimed she was married to the Pakistan cricket icon.

Ayesha, who was also known as Maha Siddique, had claimed she got married to Shoaib in 2002.

Though Shoaib had initially denied the marriage, the cricketer later formally got divorced to Ayesha before marrying India's tennis star.

How did Sania-Shoaib divorce rumour start?

The speculation over their divorce started after Sania shared some cryptic posts on social media.

"Where do broken hearts go. To find Allah," Sania had written in a post.

In another picture where she featured with her son, the former tennis player said, "The moments that get me through the hardest days."

Shoaib's Instagram post too raised doubts over their married life.

Sharing a picture from the birthday celebration of their son, Shoaib wrote in a post,"When you were born, we became more humble and life meant something special to us.

"We may be not together and meeting everyday but Baba is always thinking about you and your smile every single second. May Allah give you everything you ask for @izhaan.mirzamalik. Baba & Mama love you."
