Former IPL chief Lalit Modi has been admitted to hospital after he was suffering from  corona infection and pneumonia attack.

He has been currently  placed on external oxygen support.

Modi shared images of himself on oxygen support on Instagram and gave an update about his health condition.

" After 3 weeks in confinement with a double Covid in 2 weeks accompanied by influenza and deep pneumonia - and post trying several times to leave. " The flight was smooth. Unfortunately still on 24/7 external oxygen. Thank u to all at @vistajet for going the extra mile. I am extremely grateful to all. Love to all. Big hug," he said.

Modi, who had first conceived the idea of an international standard domestic tournament like IPL, was the chairman and commissioner of the tournament in the first three editions from 2008-2010.

The Indian cricket board (BCCI) banned Modi for life in 2013 on the charges of misconduct, indiscipline and financial irregularities.
