Hangzhou: India dominated Pakistan with a 10-2 victory in the men's hockey Pool A match, culminating the day on a high note.

India took the lead in the first quarter with a goal from Mandeep Singh, thanks to a strong combination play with Abhishek. Sumit added to India's lead with a powerful reverse hit just before half-time, making it 4-0.

In the third quarter, Harmanpreet scored his second hattrick of the 2023 Asian Games, including a penalty stroke. India continued the pressure, earning consecutive penalty corners, and Harmanpreet converted one to make it 6-0.

Pakistan got on the board with a powerful drag flick from Sufyan Muhammad in the third quarter. However, India responded swiftly with Varun Kumar deflecting a reverse hit for their seventh goal.

In the dying moments of the third quarter, Pakistan scored again from a penalty corner, making it 7-2. India dominated the final quarter, with goals from Shamsher Singh and Lalit Upadhyay, sealing a 9-2 victory.

India's solid defence in the final quarter maintained the scoreline, securing their largest-ever win against arch-rivals Pakistan.
