Kolkata/IBNS: South Africa captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and elected to bat first against Australia in the second semi-final of the Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Eden Gardens here on Thursday.

Bavuma said at the toss that they opted to bat first even after considering the forecast of rain.

The winner of the match will go to the final where they will meet India, who are yet to be defeated in the tournament.

India defeated New Zealand by 70 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to storm into the final.
