City schools share glories at Indoor rowing of 49th All India School Regatta in Kolkata's Lake Club

Kolkata/IBNS: Ashok Hall, South Point, Andrews High School, Delhi Public School and Simon Day School shared the glories winning a title each in the Indoor Rowing event of the 49th All India Invitation School Regatta Championship, organised by Lake Club at Rabindra Sarovar Lake here Monday (June 3).

While Ritsika Das of Ashok Hall won the top position in Junior Girls division, Sanskar Chandra of South Point clinched the issue in the junior Boys group.

In the Senior Boys group Romit Toppo of St Adrews emerged best and the top spot in Senior  Girls were shared by Bisala Chakraborty of Delhi Public School and Boishakhi Bhattacharya of Simon Day School as both of them scored the same points.

Indoor Rowing is an performance on a rowing machine indoor simulating the action on water in a lake or a water body.

The event has become quite popular and competed internationally.

A large number of students took part in the day-long event.

Sukrini Naha, the seven year old girl student of South City High School who is the junior most participant in this meet, drew everybody's attention.

Though Naha could not make a podium finish, she earned a lot of praise for her enthusiasm and zeal to complete the race.
