The women’s competition of the Bengal Pro T20 League got off to a dominant start with Harbour Diamonds registering a thumping eight-wicket victory over Servotech Siliguri Strikers at the Jadavpur University Salt Lake Campus on Wednesday.

The star performers for Harbour Diamonds were Payal Vakharia (3-12), Riya Das (2-15), Jhumia Khatun (33) and Sansthita Biswas (31).

The player of the match was Payal Vakharia for her outstanding bowling.

Batting first, Servotech Siliguri Strikers managed only 95/5 in 20 overs.

In reply, Harbour Diamonds chased it down scoring 98/2 in 16.5 overs.

Earlier, put into bat, Servotech Siliguri Strikers were struggling right from the start.

Losing wickets at regular intervals, the team were reduced to 62/3 inside 14 overs.

However, Chandrima Ghosal (24 not out) played a fighting knock to help Siliguri Strikers reach a respectable total.
