Paris Olympics: Lakshya Sen defeats Kevin Cordon of Guatemala in straight games in badminton men's singles
Paris: Indian badminton star Lakshya Sen defeated Kevin Cordon of Guatemala in straight sets during a men's singles group match at the Paris Olympics on Saturday.
In his Olympic debut, the 22-year-old Sen secured a 21-8, 22-20 victory over the reigning Pan American champion, Cordon, in a match that lasted 42 minutes.

Sen, who previously won gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and bronze at the 2021 World Championships, is set to play against Julien Carraggi of Belgium in his second group match on Monday.
Despite a strong comeback by Cordon in the second game, Sen maintained his composure to win the match, starting his Olympic campaign on a high note.
