Indian T20 World Cup-winning hero Joginder Sharma said he does not believe Gautam Gambhir will remain as the head coach of the national team for a long time.

"I don't feel that Gautam Gambhir will be able to last long as the head coach,"  Sharma told Shubhankar Mishra during his podcast.

He said he feels Gambhir's tenure as coach may end before his tenure due to his outspoken nature.

"Gautam Gambhir has his own decision-making nature," he said.

Clarifying that he did not mention the verbal spat between Gambhir and Virat Kohli during an IPL match in 2013, Sharma said, "It is right that Gambhir has a disagreement with a player. I am not speaking about Virat Kohli here"

"Gambhir does not believe in flattering anyone. He keeps on doing his good work from his heart," he said.

Gambhir's tenure as the Indian team's coach began on a successful note when the national team defeated Sri Lanka in the T20 series.

He is now coaching the ODI side in the series against Sri Lanka which features Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Sharma and Gambhir were part of the national side which won the T20 World Cup in South Africa.

Earlier, Gambhir said his relationship with star batsman Virat Kohli is like the one shared between two 'matured individuals'.

He said both of them are on the 'same page' as far as achieving goals and success for the national team.

"Good for the TRP, but my relationship is not public," Gambhir was quoted as saying by Espncricinfo.

"What kind of relationship do I share with Virat Kohli, I think it is between two mature individuals," he said.
