IITian Nitesh Kumar beats Daniel Bethell to clinch Paralympics gold in SL3 badminton event

Indian badminton player Nitesh Kumar brought happiness to the lives of crores of nationals after he won the gold medal in the Men's Singles SL3 badminton event of the Paralympics on Monday.

Kumar, a former IIT student, defeated England's Daniel Bethell at the Paris Paralympics 2024.

The Indian player clinched the medal by beating his opponent 21-14, 18-21, 23-21.

Both the finalists showed their brilliant skills while combating on the court for the gold medal.

Kumar, however, exited the floor with a final smile on his face.

In the ongoing edition of the mega sports event, Kumar is now the second Indian after Avani Lekhara to clinch a historic medal in women's 10m air rifle shooting standing SH1.
