Afghanistan register first WC victory
In their first World Cup win, Afghanistan reached the 211 runs target by losing nine wickets after bowling out Scotland for 210 runs.
After being reduced to 7-97, Samiullah Shenwari created the turn around for the Afghanistan side with his heroic 96 runs. He hit seven boundaries and five sixes in his knock.
Opener Javed Ahmadi contributed 51 runs with his willow.
After Majid Haq dismissed Shenwari at a scorecard of 9-192.
The last two batsmen-Hamid Hassan (15*) and Shapoor Zadran (12*)- reached the target for Afghanistan.
Richie Berrington took four wickets for Scotland.
With eight wickets lost at a score of 144 runs, Scotland rallied to 210 runs in 50 overs.
