Melbourne, Mar 29 (IBNS): New Zealand have scored 18 runs for the loss of a wicket in the final match of the World Cup against former champions Australia here on Sunday.

Martin Guptill (13*) and Kane Williamson (1*) are currently at the crease.

New Zealand have lost the wicket of their skipper Brendon McCullum (0) in the first over of the match.

Mitchell Starc took his wicket.

Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat first.
