Australian captain Michael Clarke announces retirement from test cricket

India Blooms News Service | | 08 Aug 2015, 06:24 pm
Nottingham, Aug 8 (IBNS) Australian test captain, Michael Clarke announced his retirement from test cricket here on Saturday.

Constant scrutiny over his failing performance in the last twelve months and an Ashes loss to arch-rivals England, influenced his decision, reports said.

“It is the right time to walk away and give the next captain time to prepare for the next Ashes series," a teary eyed Clarke said at the post match presentation.

Clarke is expected to hang his boots after the conclusion of the fifth and last test match of the series.
