French Open: Roger moves to next round

Paris, May 25 (IBNS): Swiss Tennis icon Roger Federer defeated Lukas Lacko of Slovakia to move to the second round of the Frech Open here on Sunday.

Federer beat his opponent 6-2 6-4 6-2 in the first round clash.

Top seed Serena Williams commenced her French Open campaign with a victory over Alize Lim of France.

The defending champion beat her French opponent 6-2 6-1  in the first round match of the grand slam.

In another men's singles first round clash French Tennis player Jo-Wilfried Tsonga defeated Edouard Roger-Vasselin7-6(4) 7-5 6-2.

US Tennis star Venus Williams moved to the next round by beating Belinda Bencic of Switzerland 6-4 6-1 .
