Australian Open: Sania, Leander maintain strong run

Melbourne, Jan 26 (IBNS) Indian Tennis star Sania Mirza and her doubles partner Martina Hingis continued their strong run in the Australian Open and reached the last-four stage of the women's singles event by beating Anna-Lena Groenefeld and Coco Vandeweghe here on Tuesday.

The Indo-Swiss stars defeated their opponents 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 on their way to the semi-finals.

The win extended Sania and Martina's winning  juggernaut to 34 matches.

India's iconic Tennis player Leander Paes and his mixed-doubles partner Martina Hingis defeated Jean-Julien Rojer and Sloane Stephens 6-1, 6-2.

Sania paired up with her mixed doubles partner Ivan Dodig of Croatia to beat Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi and Yaroslava Shvedova 7-5, 6-2 in a second round clash of the tournament.
